The bi-annual meeting of the Southeast Clinical Oncology Research Consortium (SCOR) was held April 15th, 2016 at the Hilton Garden Inn Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina. The meeting focused on clinical trials in cancer care, looking not only to the new treatments that are in development, but also reviewing some of the advances that have occurred in the past two decades.
SCOR covered 22 communities spread over five states. The group recognized physicians who were the most active in the research process. Of the 22 communities in SCOR, Southeastern Medical Oncology Center (SMOC) was one of the top practices recognized for their research. Of the 254 oncologists, 54 were recognized for their commitment to clinical trials. Of those, three of our physicians at SMOC received awards:
- Dr. Debra Miller received a bronze award
- Dr. I-Wen Chang received a silver award
- Dr. Samer Kasbari received a gold award
These awards are another example of our team’s commitment to cancer research for the best care possible. Congratulations to our doctors!
